Xapuri

Xapuri is the best restaurant of Minas cuisine. It's localization near of Pampulha's lake and Zoo.
The most famous dish is chicken brown sauce, but I prefer meat in a pumpkin. And the best is a table with a lot of dessert.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

"Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it"

Reaching the end of the period of college, everyone is going crazy with the number of tests and all the stress by doing everything possible to ensure the approval in all disciplines. And after going through this stressful time is a good time to rest and enjoy life like crazy. A good way to get inspired watching it (I hope this is once again) to 'Ferris Buller's Day Off'.

A classic film of the year 80, which is not another teen movie, which became famous for encouraging people to enjoy life, and not so much to kill class, which is the initial event of the film. The film was released in 1986 and was the result of director John Hughes, who already had experience with teen movies.

The focus of the film should be returned to the secondary character, Cameron. He is the shy boy and depressed, having trouble with his father, but has a best friend, the most popular guy in school.
And one morning he is 'induced' to do a tour of the city, instead of going to school, and realize that life can be pretty fun.

Importantly, in the movie besides eating at a fancy restaurant, drive the car of Cameron's favorite Father and sing in a festival, show that the characters can be fun to visit a museum, something that does not appeal to most young people today.

The film is so geared towards the protagonist that we interact with us! What is called 'breaking the fourth wall', when the persogem some film speaks directly to the viewer.

A great movie to see in the holidays.

And everyone should know this scene, right?

Marlin fishing

Marlin fishing

Marlin fishing is considered by some game fishermen to be the pinnacle of offshore game fishing, due to the size and power of marlin and the relative rareness and vulnerability of this species. In the past, before the way was eased by modern technology, it required skill to capture or kill marlin. It is an expensive hobby, requiring considerable money to pursue on a regular basis. Blue marlin are possibly the most sought-after marlin species. Beautiful in form, capable of spectacular fighting ability and having the potential to reach great sizes, blue marlin have inspired and continue to inspire the dedicated pursuit of thousands of skippers, crews and anglers.
Fishing styles and gear used in the pursuit of blue marlin vary, depending on the size of blue marlin common to the area, the size of fish being targeted, local sea conditions, and often local tradition. The main methods use artificial lures, rigged natural baits, or live bait.

One sad History

I read the book The Phantom of the Opera.  Do you believe in ghosts? Of course not. We like to talk about ghosts, and to tell stories about them, bat we don´t really believe in them... Do we ? - In the Paris Opera House in 1880, strange things are happening. One of the dancers sees a shadow in a dark passage. It comes throngh a wall in front of her, and its face has no eyes. On of the stage workers sees a man in a blak evening coat, but he has the head of a dead man. with a yellow face and no nose. People hear a voice in another room, but the room is empty. It´s the Phantom Of The Opera.  I read this book, but the history is very sad. The music to play in movie is beautiful....

Shark fishing

Shark Hunting and Commercial Fishing

Sharks come in all sizes and they are very fascinating creatures that live in waters all over the world. However, many of them have been hunted in large numbers over the years.

In many areas it is legal to hunt sharks and in some others the practice continues even though it is against the law. The thrill of hunting very large sharks is one that many people don’t want to miss out on. In fact, there are expeditions with guides that can lead people right to them for the right price.
The Killing Soup

Sharks are hunted for their fins too. In fact, making fin soup is a very common food in some parts of the world, like China. Extremely large sharks are often killed only to get their fins removed. The rest of the body is left to rot on the land or it is put back in the water for other creatures to feed upon.

The consumption of shark meat is common in some areas as well. They will hunt sharks and use their entire bodies. The meat is used for food and the fat for oil. They even use the skin to make sandpaper and various types of tools. All of these problems combined though have lead to an upset in the world of sharks. We have to remember that they are a vital part of the food chain.

Science Tattoos

I like science tattoos, now is common see people with this art!
I study physics and in my course I have seen much people with science tatoo.
I researched people with this type of tatoo.
Duygu Ozpolat, a graduate student in developmental biology at Tulane University, decided to celebrate Darwin’s 200th birthday in 2009 with a tattoo of Darwin’s finches.

Two equations, each sweet and short, run along the arms of Adam Simpson, who works at the National Center for Computational Sciences. F=ma explains to an astonishing degree how the planets make their way around the sun. E=mc2 explains how that sun is able to supply those planets with so much light.

This boy in image likes Rutherford Atoms, however we know that the atom works very differently from the Rutherford model. But we must not forget how different the Rutherford model was from earlier ones. In its time, his model did a better job explaining the world than anything that came before. That is all that we can expect science to do.

I like this tattos, but I will never make an tatoo because I'm afraid of  needles!
However I think it's cool who has courage :)

Summer Fashion 2012

For women interested in fashion, some tips...

Fashion 2012 will focus on strong colors. Citrus colors like orange, green and pink neon were additioned to several collections. But the neutral colors are still high, as the nude and offwhite. The floral prints will replace the leopard.

Dresses and skirts are longer and made with lighter fabrics. The modeling of clothes will be wider, so we can see that comfort is important in this summer.

Another tip to the summer is the suit, for women. The suit can be used on several occasions, either at work or in the club. At night, use a shiny top under the blazer...during the day, at work, prefer models that are straight . The most suitable are neutral colors, including white, the color of the moment.

But more important than the tips are the new concepts of fashion....but it'll be a topic for another post......

A place to go on summer vacation

On my vacation, in January, I'm going to Fortaleza - Ceara with my family. I've never been there before, so I decided to make some research and share them with you.

Fortaleza is the fifth largest city of Brazil, with a population close to 2,5 million. The city has one of the most beautiful beaches of Brazil and that's why it's Brazilians' number one holiday destination.

The urban most known beaches are: Praia de Iracema, Praia de Meireles, Praia de Mucuripe and Praia do Futuro. Therefore, close to Fortaleza we have really known beaches , like Praia de Jericoacoara, Praia de Canoa Quebrada and Praia de Porto das Dunas.

There are so many touristic places that we can go too, such as the Theatro José de Alencar, the Catedral de Fortaleza, the Mercado Central, the Ponte Metálica and the Centro Dragão do Mar. Also, the largest Aqua Park of Latin America: Beach Park, with 180,000 square meters, is located at the metropolitan area of Fortaleza and it's visited by 800,000 tourists every year.

I hope these informations can be useful for you and, who knows, maybe we meet at Fortaleza in January.

Christmas food

Christmas it's a special date for Christ people. Some families make a evening meal on 24 december and anothers a lunch in 25 december.
In the Christmas dinner or lunch always have a roast turkey, dried fruit like figs, apricot, nut and a lot of fruit.

My family used to prepare the meal at home, but nowadays we buy everything at the supermarket. My favorit fruit of christmas is Lychee. It's a Chinese fruit with white pulp and red peel.
If you like to prepare a good English cake for Christmas this a good recipe

A Christmas cake should be rich and spicy; bursting with boozy fruit but never, ever heavy. After all, you need to leave room for a mince pie.
250g currants
250g sultanas
100g dried figs, roughly chopped
100g glacé cherries, cut in half
100g mixed peel
125ml whisky, plus extra to feed
125g butter, softened
125g muscovado sugar
4 eggs, beaten
130g plain flour
½ tsp baking powder
1 tsp mixed spice
50g ground almonds
Grated zest of 1 lemon
50g whole almonds
25g crystallised ginger, chopped

1. Put the dried fruit and peel in a bowl along with the whisky, cover and leave to soak overnight. Stir well before use. Grease and line a 20cm cake tin with 2 layers of baking parchment.
2. Preheat the oven to 140C. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then gradually add the eggs, beating well after each addition so the mixture doesn't curdle.
3. Mix together the sifted flour, baking powder, spice, ground almonds and a pinch of salt and then fold this into the butter and sugar mixture. Add the soaked fruits, and any remaining whisky, the lemon zest, chopped almonds and ginger, and stir to combine.
4. Tip the mixture into your prepared tin and smooth the surface, scooping out a small hollow in the middle to prevent a doming effect.
5. Put the cake in the oven for about an hour, then cover with foil, and bake for another 30 minutes and then check the cake. It's done when a skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean – check every 10 minutes until it's cooked.
6. Leave to cool in the tin then use the skewer to poke a few holes almost all the way through the cake, and brush them with more whisky. With the baking parchment still attached, wrap well in greaseproof paper and store in an airtight tin or a layer of foil, repeating the feeding every week or so until you're ready to ice just before Christmas. (I'd recommend Nigel Slater's instructions on these matters.)

Exotic Frog

I like exotics animals, so I am writing about one special frog. This frog is exotic because cientists belive that the species is cannibalistic.
The frog was found in northern Israel this yearCientists said that the Frog was seen for the first time 50 years ago and never seen again, therefor it was declared extinct. The frog is native to the Hula Valley, a swamp drained in the 1950s to stop malaria.
Aquatic ecologist Dana Milstein says the frog was rare even before, and little is known about it. In the 1940s, a specimen ate a second frog, leading to speculation the species is cannibalistic.
She credited rehydration of the area for the frog sighting and said more are likely in the reserve.

MUSIC: The Swiss company We Spoke New Music Company

We spoke is a group of young people who make music with objects and with his own body. They explore ambient sounds and simple objects of everyday life.  I watched a presentation of them and found it interesting how they make sound from unconventional spaces such as a table or the movement of the tongue inside the mouth.

In five pieces of classical music theater, the artists explore the relationship between the production of sound and movement, devoid of any traditional instrument. The program also includes dance of language, conceptual sound, groove and house coffee in the Italian way. There are moments of lack of sound and noise and noise occasions, never before seen by the audience.
“We Spoke The New Music Company produces concerts and shows in the area of contemporary music. In addition to the distinctive repertoire, the highlights are the movements of four percussionists, who do not use traditional instruments. With five pieces of classical music theater, the musicians explore the relationship between the production of sound and movement in a fun way.”
