It is a book of autobiographical inspiration Louisa My Alcott, published in 1861 and 1865, during the American Civil war. It was made into a movie in 1944, which was directed by Gillian Armstrong.It was published in two volumes in 1868 and 1869. The novel follows the lives of four sister- Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy March - and is loosely based on the outhor´s childhood experiences whi her three sisters. The first volume Little Woman was an immediate commercial and critical success.
